Best Practices and Innovative Strategies for Relaying Critical Internal Communications and Building Trust

Description

At the onset of the pandemic, Correctional Service Canada's (CSC) Communications team adapted quickly to make vital and timely information available to staff, inmates and their families, and stakeholders. Many did not have access to standard communications channels, such as email or digital networks.

The Communications team regularly provided updates on protocols and instructions, health information, mental health resources, virtual job aids, and many other resources. The team also communicated directly with the offenders in CSC's care, providing tailored information about how to protect themselves and others.

Communicating during a rapidly evolving situation requires strategic and innovative solutions and a quick response. Join CSC's Communications team to learn more about their experiences during the early days of the pandemic, the proactive communications approach they adopted, and the innovative solutions they found to reach and engage with different audiences during this unprecedented time.
