Cultural safety is about addressing the power imbalances inherent in society to create an environment in which people feel safe when receiving services. This event features a panel discussion on cultural safety in Quebec urban settings. Participants will learn more about the concept of cultural safety, its importance, and what public servants can do to increase cultural safety when interacting with Indigenous individuals.
Panellists will share their views, experiences and realities faced by Indigenous individuals and communities in Quebec. The panel includes a psychologist who works with Indigenous individuals and who will bring this area of expertise to the discussion.
