Rebuilding Public Trust: The New Impact Assessment Regime

Description

Do you work at a federal expert department, and want to know more about your role in the new impact assessment regime? Come meet experts from the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency!

The Government of Canada is bringing forward better rules for major projects; these rules aim to protect our environment, health and socio-economic conditions, and culture, and to rebuild public trust in how decisions are made about resource-development projects.

These changes reflect values that are important to Canadians—including early, inclusive and meaningful public engagement; nation-to-nation, Inuit-Crown, and government-to-government partnerships with Indigenous peoples; timely decisions based on the best available science and Indigenous knowledge; and sustainability for present and future generations.
